May 2, 2002: The prospects of SHREDDER landing a distributor are looking pretty good according to producer, Rory Veal, in Issue No.45, Vol.9 of MovieMaker Magazine. Below is the scoop:
Producer Rory Veal has also scored big with his film Lover's Lane, which was picked up as a Blockbuster exclusive and sold to 105 overseas markets, as well as various cable and pay per view deals. Lover's Lane was also the breakout film for actress Anna Faris, who went on to star in Scary Movie and Scary Movie II. Veal is currently marketing the recently completed Shredder, "a snowboarding horror film," and expects it to fare even better than Lover's Lane. With a grin I could hear even over the telephone, Veal confessed "I've already turned down Blockbuster this time. They didn't offer enough money."
February 23, 2002: SHREDDER held a screening today at 3:00pm at the Le Merigot hotel as part of the American Film Market in Santa Monica, California.
October 29, 2001: Showcase Entertainment has taken SHREDDER to MIFED in Milan, Italy (Oct. 28 - Nov. 1)! Check out their info on the up and coming flick.
Screen Actor's Guild, "SOLIDARITY IN SEATTLE", (a publication of the Seattle SAG members) -
Rory Veal and Geoff Miller’s new movie, "Shredder", will begin in March
Capitalizing on the success of "Lovers’ Lane", Rory and Geoff hope to reprise with another slasher movie, this time on the ski slopes. "Shredder" starts in March. Ski resort location is still not final, but Idaho is likely.
Shoshone County News (small Idaho newspaper)
Silver Valley locale for first snowboarding horror flick: Filming on "Shredder," which producers are calling the world's first snowboarding horror movie, is expected to wrap up in early April. According to producer Rory Veal, "Shredder" is a teen slasher film much along the lines of "Scream," and he said the film should provide the Silver Valley excellent exposure, as the movie's prime target is younger skiers and snowboarders. Red Snow Films LLC/Iris Entertainment, an independent film making company in Redmond, Washington, is producing the film. During filming, crews had to contend with 60 mile per hour winds, which blew away a warming tent, but other than that, Veal said, work has gone smoothly. Most of the film was shot at the old Tamarack Lodge, and some filming will be done at the old Shady Lady Saloon in Wardner.
The Spokesman Review (2/26/2001) Team members of an independent film production company, Red Snow Films LLC - Iris Entertainment, will start arriving in town today. The company will produce what they call the first snowboarding horror movie, titled " Shredder." The movie will be shot in the Silver Valley with the main set built at the old wooden lodge near Silver Mountain's chair four. Filming is expected to last four weeks. The cast includes Scott Weinger, who played in "Full House," and Lindsey McKeon, who played in "Saved by the Bell."
