SCOTT WEINGER Q & A
Second Edition: May 11, 2005
Question: I have been a fan of your work ever since your Full House days. I
thought you did a great job in Shredder as well. I have heard rumors
that there might be a sequel [to SHREDDER], do you know if this is
true, and will you be involved? (From: Matt O.)
Scott: Thanks for the compliment! I'm not sure about a sequel to Shredder,
don't know if there's a plan for that. We had such a great time in
Idaho making that movie, it would be a fun prospect.
Question: Also, do you have any other upcoming television or film projects? (From: Matt O.)
Scott: I'm currently focusing mostly on my writing, and I have several
projects in the works.
Question: Are you still doing the voice of Aladdin for the Search for Mickey
Mouse movie, or is that another rumor? (From: Matt O.)
Scott: I'm not sure about "The Search for Mickey Mouse." I'll keep you
posted!
Question: What was it like to work [as a voice-over actor] on the movie
Aladdin? (From: Kem610)
Scott: I had an amazing time working on Aladdin. Of course it was exciting
to work with people like Robin WIlliams. Voice acting is a very
specific skill, very different from acting in front of the camera, and
I enjoyed learning the craft as we worked on the movie.
Question: What was it like to work with Gilbert Gottfried on the Aladdin
trilogy and television
series? (From: Rebecca)
Scott: Gilbert is a great guy, so funny. It was fun working with him and we
always laugh a lot when we see each other.
Question: Based on the insight we've seen from Aladdin, Aladdin the series,
and Aladdin and the King of Thieves, what do you think Aladdin was
like as a child? (From: AladdinsGenie886)
Scott: I'm not sure what Aladdin was like as a child, but the early version
of the film, when there was still a mother character, suggests that he
was still very much a "diamond in the rough." He was a charming,
trouble-making, independent kid who got himself into hot water often
but always knew he'd eventually make his mother proud.
Question: What is your favorite scene from "Aladdin and the King of Thieves"
and why? (From: Samantha, a.k.a. Salukfan)
Scott: It would be hard to pick out a favorite scene -- I really enjoyed the
entire movie! Of course it was great to have Robin Williams back in
the film, so anything involving him was a great pleasure.
Question: Who is your favorite author? (From: Nicola)
Scott: My favorite author is Hemingway. In fact, I wrote my college thesis
about him and spent time in Paris studying Hemingway's early years
there.
